The All Ireland Premier League is being developed by sports management company PLATINUM ONE with the support of former Derry City FC Chairman, Jim Roddy, who will be CEO of the new league. PLATINUM ONE will manage the league's commercial and marketing needs.
What we want to achieve
The All Ireland Premier League will create a sustainable professional football league on the island of Ireland. It will be independently run, under licence from the two national associations, by All Ireland Premier League Limited.
The autonomy of the FAI and the IFA will be protected.
The All Ireland Premier League will create and manage a competitive and commercially viable league that will serve the interests of the clubs, players and fans in Ireland.
How we want to achieve this
This would be achieved by:
- Creating an environment that could sustain 12 full-time professional clubs on the island.
- Establishing a credible league where quality professional players, coaches, managers, referees and support
staff would work.
- Stimulating higher performance levels in European competition.
- Creating an underage league for AIPL clubs to provide a pathway for players from schoolboy to the professional game in Ireland.
- Contributing to the future success of the international teams representing the two Associations.
In its inaugural season 10 clubs would compete but from season three 12 clubs will participate in the All Ireland Premier League.
